Filipini: PROSLAVA 14. OBLJETNICE BEATIFIKACIJE BL. IVANA MERZA

Dave:

Quezon City, Philippines (June 22, 2017): Administrators, volunteers, devotees and guests of Blessed Ivan Merz in the Philippines gathered at the Blessed Ivan Merz Center’s Oratory of the Sacred Relics to celebrate a Mass for Giving Thanks to God. The Mass was celebrated on the occassion on the 14th Anniversary of the Beatification of Blessed Ivan by Pope (Saint) John Paul II in Banja Luka.

Rev. Fr. Macias Wency Serafica, priest of the archdiocese of Manila and parish priest of St. Isidore the Farmer in Pasay City presided the Mass. During his homily, he presented Blessed Ivan Merz as model of those who serve at the Church especially that the Philippines celebrates this year the Year of Parish and Basic Ecclesial Communities. He encouraged the faithful to serve like Blessed Ivan: going to the streets and lead others to Jesus back to the Church. He also said that we are all called to be Saints.

After the Mass, the Vice Postulator, Dave Dela Cruz, thank all the attendees and welcomed the first timers. He also announced that by January 2018 the Blessed Ivan Merz Center will hopefully have a permanent place to cater the people and the formation of those who wish to be “apostles of the youth” inspired by Blessed Ivan’s charism. He urges the attendees to continue to help spiritually and financially the Cause for Canonization. He hopes that with the growing numbers of devotees in the country is a sign of the growing chances that Blessed Ivan be soon numbered among the Saints.

The veneration of the relics followed and a healing prayer service were rendered to the faithful using an oil blessed with the relic of Blessed Ivan Merz.
